Waterfall enrichment for MENA companies with Clay
A waterfall calls providers one after another until one answers. For Gulf domains, the usual chain often ends with every column empty.
Why the waterfall ends empty on Gulf domains
Most enrichment providers in a typical Clay table draw from overlapping US and European sources. When a Gulf company is missing from one, it is often missing from all of them. Adding a fifth global provider rarely helps. Adding a provider that reads different sources does.
The setup
- Keep your existing providers first. They are fast and cheap on the companies they know.
- Add ApiOne as the last company step. Use an HTTP API column with the Clay template: POST to
https://api.apione.store/api/v1/companies/enrich, headerX-API-Key, body{"domain": "/Company Domain"}. - Run it only when the others failed. Set the column to run only if the industry or headquarters column is still empty.
- Map the fields you need: industry, company_size, headquarters, funding_stage, and
_meta.sourcesso reviewers can check the answer. - Set a 60-second timeout. A fresh ApiOne lookup takes 5 to 9 seconds because it reads live sources.
What it costs
ApiOne charges 5 credits per company only when it returns an answer backed by live evidence. Empty lookups, errors and unresolvable domains are free. Because it runs only on the rows your other providers missed, you pay for the gap you are filling and nothing else.
Add hiring and name matching
Two more columns work well in the same table. Hiring signals returns open roles by department and city from the company's own job board, a strong timing signal for outreach. Name matching helps dedupe against your CRM when the same company appears in Arabic and English.
Frequently asked questions
Will ApiOne slow down my table?
Only on the rows where it runs. Put it last and limit it to rows with empty fields.
Can I use the same setup in n8n or Make?
Yes. See the integrations page for an n8n template and Make settings.
100 free credits, no card. Misses, errors and answers without live evidence are free.
