Clearbit API alternative for GCC and MENA companies
If you built on company.clearbit.com and your targets are Gulf companies, you have two problems, not one.
What happened to the Clearbit API
HubSpot bought Clearbit in late 2023 and rebuilt it inside HubSpot as Breeze Intelligence. The free Clearbit tools closed on 30 April 2025 and the free Logo API followed on 1 December 2025. Enrichment is now a HubSpot feature: you need a HubSpot subscription, and there is no standalone API for teams on Salesforce, Attio, Pipedrive or their own stack.
So the first problem is plain: your integration needs a new endpoint.
The second problem: Gulf coverage
The second problem only shows up once you switch. Most replacement APIs draw from the same US and European sources Clearbit did. A Saudi or Emirati company whose website is Arabic first, that has little English press coverage and a thin professional-network presence, tends to come back empty or half filled from all of them. Swapping one Western database for another rarely fixes that.
What to look for in a replacement
| Criterion | Why it matters for Gulf accounts |
|---|---|
| Live sourcing, not only a stored database | Many Gulf companies were never indexed, so a lookup has to read live sources, including the company's own site |
| Cited sources per field | Lets you check a headquarters or funding stage before it lands in your CRM |
| Honest nulls | A blank is better than a guessed city or a wrong headcount |
| Pricing on results, not calls | Misses are frequent in new regions, you should not pay for them |
| Arabic handling | Arabic names, Arabic-first websites and legal forms like ذ.م.م |
How ApiOne maps to Clearbit
| Clearbit | ApiOne |
|---|---|
GET company.clearbit.com/v2/companies/find?domain= | POST /api/v1/companies/enrich with {"domain": ...} |
name, category.industry | name, industry, industry_vertical |
metrics.employeesRange | company_size |
geo.city, geo.country | headquarters.city, headquarters.country |
metrics.raised | funding_stage |
tech | tech_stack (or the dedicated tech stack endpoint) |
| no equivalent | _meta.sources, the evidence behind the answer |
The call is a POST with an X-API-Key header. Most teams rewrite a Clearbit integration in an afternoon. See the company enrichment reference.
Where ApiOne is not the right choice
Be clear about the trade-offs. A fresh company lookup takes 5 to 9 seconds because it reads live sources, so it belongs in an async job or a waterfall fallback, not in a form-fill that must answer in 200 ms. If your accounts are mostly large US and European companies, a stored database will be faster and cheaper. ApiOne is built for the accounts those databases miss.
Frequently asked questions
Can I still use the Clearbit API without HubSpot?
No. Breeze Intelligence requires a HubSpot subscription and the standalone API is no longer offered to new customers.
Is ApiOne a drop-in replacement for Clearbit?
It covers the company enrichment job with similar fields, but the field names differ and the call is a POST. Plan a small mapping layer.
What happens when ApiOne cannot find a company?
The fields come back null and you are not charged. No data, no charge.
100 free credits, no card. Misses, errors and answers without live evidence are free.
