Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines what you may and may not do with the ApiOne API. It applies to all accounts on all plans, including the free tier. Violations may result in account suspension or permanent termination without refund.

Permitted use

  • Enriching company records in your CRM, sales tools, or internal databases.
  • Finding and verifying professional email addresses for legitimate business outreach.
  • Detecting the technology stack of companies you are targeting for sales or partnership.
  • Identifying hiring and growth signals to prioritise outreach.
  • Building internal sales, recruiting, or GTM tools for your organisation.
  • Integrating ApiOne data into your own SaaS product to enrich your customers' records.
  • Academic or market research using aggregated, anonymised outputs.

Prohibited use

  • Reselling raw data: You may not resell, license, or distribute raw API responses as a standalone data product or data feed to third parties.
  • Competitive use: You may not use ApiOne to build a competing B2B data enrichment API or data provider service.
  • Reverse engineering: You may not attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or reconstruct our underlying data sources or AI models.
  • Spam: You may not use email addresses returned by ApiOne for bulk unsolicited spam campaigns. All outreach must comply with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and applicable local law.
  • Illegal targeting: You may not use ApiOne to identify, profile, or contact individuals for discriminatory, harassing, or unlawful purposes.
  • Key sharing: You may not share your API key with users or organisations outside your company.
  • Automation abuse: You may not use automated scripts to deliberately exceed your plan's rate limits or probe system limits.
  • Account circumvention: You may not register multiple free accounts to bypass credit limits.

GDPR compliance

If you are in the EEA or processing data about EEA residents, you are solely responsible for ensuring your use of ApiOne complies with GDPR — including having a lawful basis for processing (such as legitimate interest for B2B outreach) and honouring opt-out requests from individuals who contact you.

Enforcement

We monitor API usage patterns for abuse. Violations may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent termination depending on severity. We reserve the right to act without prior notice in cases of serious or repeated violations.
